  • Indian Gooseberry is known as Amla and is an exotic variety of fruit found mainly in India. Eating two ripe Indian gooseberries every day for a period of two months is going to greatly reduce hair fall.
  • Vitamin C will also boost the manufacture of keratin and keep it healthy. The fruit has a very sour taste so you can even make juice from the fruit, add a little honey to it and drink two glasses of juice every day. Indian gooseberry is good for the skin as well. Prepare the juice at home by boiling four ripe Indian gooseberries in four cups of water.
  • Let the fruits boil in water for 10 minutes and then remove from flame. Allow the infusion to cool and then drink it after straining. Applying amla hair oil on your scalp will also stimulate hair growth. You can prepare the oil at home by adding 250 grams of fresh amla pieces to about 4 ounces coconut oil or olive oil. Keep this concoction in the sun for about a week.
  • Strain the oil mixture to remove pieces of amla from the oil. Apply the amla hair oil for 30-40 minutes before shampooing your hair. Amla hair powder is available in many health stores and applying amla hair mask once a week will prevent hair fall.

Wash hair like you normally do. Use cold water to rinse the shampoo from your hair. Once you’ve washed your hair wrap a towel around the hair to get rid of extra water. Remove the towel and lower your head so that the hair are upside down. Start massaging the scalp with your finger tips.

Use gentle pressure for massaging. Continue with the massage till your scalp turns red and starts tingling. The vigorous rubbing of the scalp is helpful in opening the follicles that have been blocked as a result of accumulation of dirt. This might not be a very tempting treatment considering the foul smell of onion, but onions are very helpful in treating hair loss. Take a juicy medium sized onion. Cut in two halves. Rub the halves on the patches of your scalp that are suffering from hair loss.

Massage the scalp vigorously with the juice of the onion. The massaged patches will become red. Onion contains essential minerals that help stimulate hair growth. The treatment should be done twice a day for a period of two weeks. Apply a little lavender oil on the massaged areas to soothe the red skin. Lavender oil will also prevent your hair from smelling like onions.

Alfalfa For Treating Hair Loss

Alfalfa is a mineral rich grass found in the mainlands of Africa. But you can also get its powder or juice form from any health food store. Combine 60 grams of alfalfa powder with 20 grams amla powder and some water. Prepare a paste using the ingredients.

Apply the paste on your scalp and well as the hair. Leave for 30 minutes and then wash using cold water; don’t use shampoo. The nutrition present in alfalfa will help with the growth of hair and also make the hair appear lustrous and healthy.

Soak about 300 grams of fenugreek seeds in 2 ounces of water. Leave them soaked in the water for 20-24 hours. Then grind them in an electric mixer till you get a fine paste. Apply this paste on your scalp and hair. Take a towel soaked in hot water and squeeze it. Wrap your hair in the towel and leave for 45 minutes.

Remove the towel and wash hair using lukewarm water and a mild shampoo. This treatment should be done thrice a week for a period of six months to get long and smooth hair.
