Some Simple Natural Treatments For Dizziness

  • Dizziness cannot be termed as a disease. It is a symptom which can surface as a result of a number of internal problems that could be harmless or serious. Sometimes, we feel dizzy just because we have not taken enough food. Dizziness is the result of loss of balance in our body.
  • This sudden imbalance occurs when there is confusion in the way the brain processes the information sent by the organs of our body. When we feel dizzy, most often it will get rectified after a few minutes of rest and after drinking some water.
  • This is true in the case of dizziness caused by external factors like heat, lack of food and water, pollution etc. However, dizziness becomes a serious issue if it is frequent and is followed by other symptoms as well. In such cases, you need to take it seriously and visit a doctor to rule out internal problems.
  • In the meanwhile, there are several home remedies for dizziness that you can try to get well soon and get back to your daily activities. These treatment methods can be used for several problems that could be associated with your dizziness. In most cases, a natural remedy is all you need to stop the discomfort and get back to normalcy.

Treatments For Dizziness
Ginger is a wonderful root that can be used for dizziness caused due to indigestion, lack of blood circulation and due to feverish conditions. It can also be safely consumed for treating dizziness in pregnant women which could be due to indigestion or morning sickness.
Chew a piece of ginger as soon as you feel dizzy. Prepare ginger tea by crushing a 1” piece of ginger and boiling it with a cup of water. Add a teaspoon of honey and drink this 2-3 times a day to stay away from dizziness.

Peppermint is used for cooling the system and hence good for treating feverish conditions and dizziness due to overheating of the body. Chew on some mint leaves or take peppermint oil when you feel dizzy. Continue this throughout the day to cool the body and you will be fine in a day.

Sometimes, just drinking a glass of water and lying down for a few minutes will take care of your dizziness by restoring the balance and cooling the body. Make sure that you have taken enough food and drunken ample water which could also be the cause of your dizziness. Drink 2 glasses of water immediately when you feel dizzy.

Ice Compress
Ice compress is a safe and sure way to treat dizziness when your body is hot. When you feel dizzy, lie down on the bed. Ask someone to keep an ice pack on your neck.
Continue the applications for about 10 minutes. This will help in cooling the body and preventing further aggression.

Gingko Biloba
When the blood circulation to the brain is reduced, we feel dizzy There can be many causes for this. Damages caused in the inner part of the ear can cause the body to lose balance as the body’s balance is controlled by the inner part of the ear.
To improve the blood circulation and prevent dizziness, gingko biloba can be used as a possible cure. Take gingko biloba extract two times a day to control the dizziness and improve the productivity of nerves and brain.

Lemon and Pepper
In a cup of water, add one tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1/4th teaspoon of freshly grinded pepper. Add a pinch of salt to it and consume this three times a day. If your dizziness is very frequent, this treatment can be continued for a week or so to get total relief from the symptoms.

Herbal Paste
  1. A herbal paste can be used by combining a number of potent seeds and grains and mixing it with water. Combining a number of things for treating a disorder is always a better remedy than using a single solution, especially while treating a symptom like dizziness where we are not sure as to what has caused the dizziness.
  2. Mix two tablespoon wheat grain to one teaspoon of poppy seeds as well as watermelon seeds. Take around 7-8 almonds and add all these to half a cup of water. Leave it overnight for them to become soft. Crush all the ingredients to a paste.
  3. Take a teaspoon of ghee in a pan and heat it. Add a clove to it and fry it. This too can be crushed and added to the paste. Mix the paste with a glass of milk and drink in the morning. For dizziness that is frequent, this can be taken every day morning for a week for complete relief.

Saline Water
  • Certain types of dizziness can be caused due to allergic manifestations like a cold or cough as a result of blocking of nose due to excessive mucus. In such cases, a saline solution can be prepared at home and used for clearing the nasal blocks.
  • Take a glass of water and add 1/4th teaspoon of salt to it. You may use a netti pot for releasing the water into one nose, keeping the other closed. Remove it through the other nose. Repeat with the other nose. Do it 2-3 times till your nose is clear. This will remove the dizziness associated with allergies. Saline solution must not be continued for more than 3 days. The symptoms could aggravate if used frequently. If your dizziness goes on for more than that, consult a doctor.
For treating dizziness through acupressure, you can find out the pressure points to help improve blood circulation to the brain. Sit on the floor when you feel dizzy so that you do not fall. Bend your knees and press over the shin bones which are placed right under the knee cap.
Press gently and slowly apply a bit of pressure. This can be done for about 2 minutes. Pressing these pressure points will immediately release blood into the brain, preventing confusing and stopping dizziness
